GRUPO DESPORTIVO DE MAPUTO

Grupo Desportivo de Maputo, also known as the “Alvinegros (Black and Whites)”, is a sports club based in Maputo, with almost a century of existence, and whose main sports are football, basketball and roller hockey.

In these sports, the Club has regularly participated in the main National championships, having been football champion on 8 occasions, and in roller hockey where it reached 11 consecutive titles (1994 - 2004). In basketball, it was crowned African champion in women's basketball and national champion in 2015, in men's basketball.

It is a club with a considerable number of supporters and sympathizers, and with a recognized training school, having produced notable talents such as Mário Coluna (The Sacred Monster), "Tico-Tico" and Dominguez.

Recognising sport’s importance in the integral formation of personality, in social inclusion, the preservation and promotion of health and well-being, and the contribution of GDM in this domain, Moza decided in 2020, within the context of the launch of the Club's centenary celebrations, to embrace part of the projects of this institution, through the establishment of a protocol.

With the agreement, Moza Banco became a strategic partner for Grupo Desportivo de Maputo, supporting the Men's and Women's Senior Basketball teams and, in particular, the training of young athletes in the sport.

With this memorandum, we have solidified our commitment to sport in Mozambique, boosting the training and emergence of new talents.
