Covid-19 protection and agricultural production material donated in 3 districts of Tete

Moza Banco recently donated hygiene kits to the districts of Zumbu, Magoé and Marávia in Tete province, as part of the fight against Covid-19, in addition to agricultural inputs and fishing equipment for local Associations.

With this initiative, the Bank intends to contribute to the balanced development of the three districts, as well as to improve living conditions in these communities.  Likewise, the donation will help to guarantee the increase of production, productivity and family income, ensuring sustainability for farmers and for their savings.

On the occasion, the CEO of Moza Banco, Manuel Soares, highlighted that the donation falls within the scope of its social responsibility policy that foresees the implementation of actions that promote the development and well-being of the communities where the Bank operates.

"We decided to join the efforts of the Secretary of State of the Province, supporting the districts of Zumbu, Magoé and Marávia in the prevention and protection against COVID-19. We have also delivered agricultural inputs and fishing equipment to local associations, promoting greater food security on the one hand, while also promoting fishing activity and income generation capacity in the region. We do so because we are sensitive to the real problems and limitations of our population and, above all, because we want to be part of their solution, actively contributing to the inclusive and sustained development of the country."

The Secretary of State in Tete Province, Elisa Zacarias, welcomed the initiative from Moza Banco, emphasising, “this action will help firstly with Covid-19 prevention, as was well alluded to, since the masks, buckets and soap given will contribute to the individual protection and hygiene of our population. Meanwhile, the seeds, motor pumps and fishing nets will contribute to an increase in agricultural and fishing production, thus improving food security and income for families”.

The social responsibility action follows the inauguration of the first bank branch in the district of Zumbu, Tete province. The event was led by the President Filipe Nyusi, and was attended by staff from the Presidency and from Moza Banco.
