The European Investment Bank (EIB), in collaboration with Moza Banco, is making €10 million available to boost Mozambican businesses, particularly those led by women. The main objective of this funding is to support economic growth and development while reducing gender inequality, by offering favourable and flexible credit conditions to women entrepreneurs.
Eligible Companies:
This financing is available to companies across various sectors, including manufacturing, transport, agriculture, healthcare and services, with up to 2,999 employees, and that meet Moza Banco’s credit approval criteria.
To qualify for this funding, companies must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
Micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises that meet the conditions below:
- 51% of the share capital is owned by women;
- 30% of management positions are held by women;
- 30% to 50% of the workforce is composed of women;
- The company's products or services promote female empowerment.
Financing Amounts, Terms and Interest Rates:
Working Capital Support:
- Overdraft Facility: Minimum of 200,000 MZN or equivalent in USD and maximum of 5 million MZN or equivalent in USD
- Promissory Note Discounting: 200,000 MZN up to a maximum of 5 million MZN
Investment Credit:
- Minimum of 500,000 MZN or equivalent in USD and maximum of 5 million MZN or equivalent in USD
Terms:
Working Capital Support:
- Secured Overdraft: Up to 6 months, renewable
- Promissory Note Discounting: Minimum of 30 days, maximum of 180 days
Note: Working capital support may allow for terms of up to 24 months.
Investment Credit:
- Minimum: 6 months
- Maximum: Negotiable, up to 60 months
Interest Rate:
- Financing conditions tailored to each business, with negative spreads for loans in MZN.
