Moza Banco and EMOSE renew partnership to bring insurance solutions to more Mozambicans
On Tuesday, 27 October, Moza Banco hosted a signing ceremony in Maputo for a new agreement with Empresa Moçambicana de Seguros (EMOSE, S.A.) covering the distribution and marketing of insurance products. The agreement establishes new terms under which the Bank will distribute and market EMOSE insurance products to its customers through its branch network and digital channels.
The agreement continues a partnership that began in 2018, when the two institutions signed their first contract to make EMOSE insurance products available to Moza Banco customers. The new agreement replaces the previous one and updates the terms of the partnership to reflect market developments, changes in the regulatory framework governing the insurance sector and the growing use of digital channels by customers.
Under the agreement, Moza Banco acts as a distribution channel. EMOSE, drawing on its experience in the national insurance sector, is responsible for product design, risk assessment and acceptance, policy issuance and claims management. The partnership provides for the availability of both Life and Non-Life insurance solutions, which may be linked to credit facilities or purchased independently, in accordance with the terms agreed between the two institutions.
The agreement was signed by Moza Banco's Chief Executive Officer, Manuel Soares, and, on behalf of EMOSE, by its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Janfar Abdulai. In his address, Manuel Soares highlighted the role of banking in facilitating access to protection solutions, noting that people turn to their bank when buying a home, purchasing a vehicle or investing in their business. He emphasised that it is precisely when a project becomes a reality that protecting it makes the most sense.
“For Moza Banco, this partnership reflects a firm belief: banking that is closer to people is also banking that helps protect what they build,” said Manuel Soares.
The partnership forms part of Moza Banco's commitment to promoting financial inclusion, understood not only as access to banking products and services, but also as access to protection mechanisms that enable families and small businesses to cope with the consequences of accidents, illness or natural disasters, while reducing the financial impact of such events.
Through the renewal of this partnership, Moza Banco strengthens the protection solutions available to individuals and businesses and reaffirms its commitment to bringing closer to Mozambicans the tools they need to face the future with greater security and peace of mind.
