Moza takes savings to the stage, bringing financial education closer to younger generations

The play “Dare to Dream of Tomorrow” brought together around 100 pupils in Maputo and Matola. Activities also included financial education and educational support in Pemba.

Maputo, 2 November 2026 — Moza Banco has chosen theatre as a way of bringing financial education into schools, making the topics of saving and money management more accessible and relevant to younger audiences. The play “Dare to Dream of Tomorrow” brought together around 100 pupils in two performances held on 28 October, at Escola Secundária da Polana, in Maputo, and Colégio Aboobacar Sidique, in Matola.

As part of the celebrations marking World Savings Day, the initiative sought to build a connection between culture and financial education. Through performance and audience interaction, the Bank encouraged reflection on how the choices we make today can help shape our future plans and aspirations.

The use of theatre makes it possible to explore these topics beyond concepts and figures. Stories, actors' performances and direct interaction with the audience provide an engaging language that resonates with pupils, creating opportunities to discuss the value of available resources and the importance of managing them responsibly.

“Dare to Dream of Tomorrow” thus brings to life the central message behind the initiative: preparing for the future also means developing good saving habits and making informed choices in everyday life.

In Pemba, Escola Primária Completa Unidade 1 hosted a financial education session, accompanied by the distribution of 100 school supply kits. The activity was attended by Moza's Northern Regional Director and combined practical guidance on saving with support for learning.

These activities form part of the “Dream of Tomorrow” programme, launched by Moza in 2023, which combines the provision of school supplies and educational materials with initiatives focused on saving, financial management and sustainability.
